BOONDOCKING NEAR COLORADO & KANSAS RIGHT OFF 70
Updated: Aug 28, 2019
Just over the Kansas border into Colorado we enjoyed a peaceful night of boondocking in our RV.
Out in the country we drove for several miles down dirt roads lined with sunflowers to Flagler Recreation State Area to boondock for free.
We arrived at the end of a road with a turn around and set up our RV for the night. I gathered all of our solar lights and turned on a little mood lighting as we sat down to plan out our journey for the next few days.
While there we saw no one else but we only stayed one night. The weather was great in mid August as it was nice and cool at night at about 64.
We only had one bar of Verizon signal and it did go out a couple of times for a few minutes.
In the area there were bathroom/vault toilets and covered picnic areas although the area was a little overgrown with vegetation.
The next morning we got up and Wade made banana Nutella crepes and we had a slow morning pulling out a little after noon just as it was starting to reach the mid 80’s in the RV.

There were not city amenities near here so stock up before you come.
We love boondocking in our RV because it saves us lots of money so that we can travel as long as possible. Next stop on this trip for us is Alma, Kansas right off 1-70.
Have to tried boondocking?
